From a startup to a state-of-the-art beverage company<\/h2>\n

After returning to Poland, Sobczyk founded the company Sokpol in 1992. His goal was to build a state-of-the-art beverage company. He immediately set an important milestone by installing an aseptic filling line for his former employer. Building on this success, he was able to successfully expand his company. Sokpol remains 100% family-owned to this day. Production, automation, and the product portfolio in the areas of PET and carton packaging have been steadily and consistently expanded in this context, while simultaneously investing in sustainability and certified management systems. Today, the company operates three plants in Poland with over 500 employees. In-house closure production to ensure compliance with high quality standards<\/h2>\n

As part of a strategic decision to bring key packaging components closer to its own production facilities, Sokpol decided to manufacture beverage closures in-house rather than relying exclusively on external suppliers, as done previously. The goal was to retain control over quality and design and to improve supply reliability. Previously, closures were sourced from various suppliers, which led to inconsistencies in quality and design. In-house production provided optimal support for the transition to a uniform and independent product design. Installed System and Scope<\/h3>\n

The turnkey system is based on a high-performance Elion 3200 injection molding machine. It is equipped with a 48-cavity mold from Corvaglia, and the downstream equipment is supplied by IMD vista. The system produces a 38-mm easy-open cap for aseptic filling with a cycle time of well under 4 seconds. This places it well below established industry standards. The closures produced by this system are fed into a high-speed filling line from Krones, where iced tea and juice are processed. The cooling solution was planned and implemented in collaboration with the Polish partner Muehsam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Netstal stood out in a comprehensive evaluation of various technology partners<\/h2>\n

As part of the strategically significant closure project, Sokpol conducted a structured supplier evaluation in which it compared various technology options. The final decision was then deliberately made to bring on a new technology partner, with Netstal being selected instead of the company\u2019s existing machine suppliers or another candidate from the shortlist. This \u201csecond technology\u201d approach is part of Sokpol\u2019s strategy to diversify its investments. It is important to the company to minimize risks and reduce dependence on individual technology partners. At the same time, the performance and expertise of the various suppliers were compared, ultimately allowing Netstal to successfully secure the contract for closure production.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_single_image media=”22047″ media_width_percent=”100″ uncode_shortcode_id=”163981″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”401195″]<\/p>\n

Netstal\u2019s proposal\u2014particularly the high performance and extremely robust design of the hybrid Elion 3200\u2014was deemed ideal for the intended closure application. In addition, the overall package and the proposed implementation concept closely aligned with Sokpol\u2019s requirements for stable, industrialized production and long-term process control. Overall, the package enabled Sokpol to position itself in a superior market position thanks to lower production costs.<\/p>\n

Another key factor was Netstal\u2019s decision to participate in the tender in collaboration with Corvaglia and one of its proven closure designs. Compared to an alternative that would have required a pilot plant, this solution was considered easier to implement, ready for immediate use, and better suited for integration into the existing filling environment.
