Original technology pays: This is the central message of a new campaign presented by the VDMA (Association of German Mechanical Engineering Institutions). The association with its members jointly addresses potential customers with the slogan "Choose the Original - Choose Success" and thereby attacks the copying industry and the infringement of intellectual property rights.

Five main arguments in favour of ORIGINAL equipment are in the foreground within the campaign: quality, innovation, efficiency, experience and safety.

Product piracy affects by now two thirds of the German enterprises of the branch of the industry, as a current study of the VDMA reveals. Involved are all specialist areas of mechanical engineering and their individual production steps. According to the study 60 percent of the participants stated that their complete machines had been copied, 42 percent complained about the copying of spare parts and 41 percent suffered from individual copied components.
