Netstal at the Chinaplas in Shanghai, 19.04. - 22.04.2010
At the Chinaplas international plastics exhibition the Swiss machine manufacturer Netstal presents its precisely working ELION injection moulding machine. The application on show is from the medical field and reveals once again the high efficiency and performance capability of Netstal machines.
Medical moulding on the energy-saving ELION
The ELION range, well-proven for years in the production of medical parts, is represented at the Chinaplas by the model 1200-530. Using a 64-cavity mould made by Schöttli of Switzerland, needle protection caps for disposable syringes are produced under clean-room conditions at a cycle of less than 6.5 seconds. The moulded parts of a polypropylene of Messrs Borealis are removed from the mould by a handling unit of the German manufacturer Hekuma. Moulding machine and handling unit make up a production cell. Raw material feeding is taken care of by appliances of Messrs Motan, temperature control by HB-Therm of Switzerland and the chiller unit is a product of Messrs ef cooling Ernst H. Furrer AG, also a Swiss company. The all-electric ELION is outstandingly suitable for operation in the clean room. For this purpose it features e.g. encapsulated and water-cooled electric motors which run virtually without emissions. The ELION machine emits extremely few particles generally and in this way effectively saves the processor clean-room operating costs. The system presented at the Chinaplas, i.e. the combination of moulding machine, mould, automation and further periphery ready for production, is a typical example of Netstal's experience in working out and supplying comprehensive solutions. Apart from the highly productive injection moulding system, the customer gets also the necessary processing know-how which enables him to produce top-quality parts from the first hour of production.
Efficient and ecological
Both processor and environment benefit additionally from the ELION's low energy consumption. Thanks to the recovery principle, braking energies are fed back to the power circuit for supply to other users within the equipment. Efficiently applied, this can save up to 70% energy compared with conventional drive systems. The ELION is equipped with a very precise closed loop control of the moulding processes. This guarantees not only highest product quality, but reduces rejects to an absolute minimum. The processor thus benefits from economic advantages and at the same time makes a valuable contribution towards the protection of the environment and a smaller carbon footprint of his production.
Netstal China Ltd.
