Netstal at the PLAST in Milano, 24.03. - 28.03.2009
At the international plastics exhibition PLAST in Milano / Italy the Swiss equipment manufacturer Netstal-Maschinen AG presents its innovative and outstandingly powerful ELION injection moulding machine. By demonstrating a model of this fully electrically driven machine range Netstal submits once more proof of its competence when it comes to the efficient production of medical mouldings.
ELION: Highest precision and energy saving with ELION 800
The ELION 800-270 on show produces a medical application which is typical for this range of equipment. Relying on a 32-imp. mould made by Tanner of Switzerland, pipettes are moulded under clean-room conditions from a polypropylene of Lyondellbasell at a cycle of just under 6 seconds. The subsequent removal of the parts is accomplished by a handling device of the German producer Ilsemann. Raw material feeding is ensured by devices of Motan, also domiciled in Germany, while mould temperature control is in the care of HB-Therm of Switzerland and cooling in that of Frigofluid, Italy.
The all-electric ELION is outstandingly suitable for operation in the clean room because the machine features encapsulated and water-cooled electric motors which run without any emissions. Additionally, the processor benefits from the ELION's low power consumption. Thanks to the recovery principle the braking energies are returned to the power circuit in order to supply other consumers on the machine. Efficiently used, this can save up to 70% energy compared with conventional drive systems.
