(27 April 2012) At the Plastpol fair in Kielce, Poland (29 May to 1 June 2012), Netstal, the Swiss manufacturer of injection molding machines, will be exhibiting an application from the field of thin-wall injection molding at the stand of its representative, MUEHSAM-ELEKTROMECH (Hall F, Stand F1). The high-speed, thin-wall part will be produced on an all-electric and energy-saving ELION 1200.

High-speed production of thin-wall part on the energy-saving ELION

On an ELION 1200, Netstal will showcase an application from the area of thin-wall injection molding to demonstrate the high efficiency of its all-electric line. The molded part produced is an IML container, which is manufactured at an impressive cycle time of just 3.8 seconds in a 2-cavity mold from Italian mold maker SCS. The packaging part made of a polypropylene from Borealis is labeled during the injection molding process by means of IML (in-mold labeling). The label is inserted and the part then removed by a handling device from Italian manufacturer Campetella. The Italian company Piovan also provides the devices for the supply of raw materials and is responsible for cooling.

"The system presented at Plastpol, namely the production-ready combination of machine, mold, automation and other peripheral devices, is a premium example of Netstal?s experience and expertise in providing complete customer solutions", says Markus DalPian, Head of the PAC Business Unit. "The customer receives a highly productive injection molding system and benefits from our extensive processing expertise and is then in a position to produce top-quality parts as soon as production gets underway." In addition, the processor also benefits from ELION's low energy consumption. Thanks to the principle of recuperation, braking energy is fed back into the electrical circuit to supply additional consumers. When used efficiently, it is possible to save up to 70 percent of energy consumption compared with conventional drive systems.
