Netstal at the MEDTEC in Stuttgart, 03.03. - 05.03.2009
It is already the second time that Netstal, the Swiss manufacturer of injection moulding machines, exhibits at the international trade fair MEDTEC in Stuttgart. Netstal presents its ELION moulding machine which is by now perfectly established in the market. The application is from the field of medical engineering and highlights once more the output capabilities of the fully electrically driven machines of this series.
ELION: Highest precision and energy savings with the ELION 800
On its ELION 800-270 machine Netstal shows a medical engineering application which is typical for this equipment series. Using a 32-cavity mould of the Swiss mouldmaker Tanner, pipettes of a polypropylene of the Lyondellbasell company are moulded under clean-room conditions at a production cycle of just under 6 seconds. The products are removed from the machine by a handling device of Messrs Ilsemann, Germany. The raw material feeding devices are made available by Motan, also of Germany, while the temperature control units are supplied by HB-Therm of Switzerland.
The all-electric ELION is outstandingly suitable for use in the clean room because it has such favourable features as encapsulated and water-cooled electric motors which ensure an operation without emissions. Apart from this the plastics processor benefits from the low energy consumption of the ELION. Thanks to the recuperation principle the braking energies are returned to the power circuit and supplied to further consumers on the machine. Efficiently applied, this characteristic can lead to an energy saving of up to 70% compared with conventional drive systems.
